Patricia Ann "Patty" Medler

Age 84, of Lake Odessa, Michigan, passed away August 22, 2015.  She was born April 29, 1931, in Lansing, to Melvin and Ruby Belbeck.  Patricia worked in the ceramics business for over 50 years, starting with her mother, teaching classes in Haslett.  From there, she operated a store in Wacousta for 13 years called “Patty’s Henhouse.”    In 1985, she opened “Village Craft Shoppe,” which she ran with her daughter.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; sister, Betty Medler; and her parents.  Surviving are:  daughter, Terry (Larry) Baldwin; sons, Gary (Lisa) Medler and Melvin (Jodi) Medler; 12 grandchildren, Nicole (Brian) Clarke, Noel (Nikki) Baldwin, Jamie (Mary) Medler, Garret Medler, Zachary (Brandy) Medler, Robert Boisvert, Stephanie Boisvert, Jennifer Medler, Tyler Medler, Kayleigh (JD) Owens, Hannah Medler and Seth Medler; as well as 12 great-grandchildren; and her cat, George.

Her family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015.  A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Glendale Cemetery in Okemos.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage in memory of Patricia Medler.

Wonderful memories that make me smile…camping, Walt Disney World, cherry picking, painting, pool and card parties at your house – just to name a few. Great times! And who could forget yummy cottage-cheesed filled peaches and pears? Wonderful, wonderful memories.

Terry, I have wonderful memories of your Mom when we did ceramics at your Grandmother’s home. Your Mom had a wonderful talent for detail painting. I think of her each time I put out my Christmas Village. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Jayne

This is a few years late ,but Dick and Pat are still in my thoughts and in my heart.Our families had such fun and wonderful times together . Bill died the same year and month as you Patty. . I probably will be joining you all soon .Love you. Gary, Terry and Mel—love you too.
