Betty L. Medler

Age 88, of East Lansing, Michigan, passed away on August 5, 2015.  She was born in East Lansing on July 10, 1927, the daughter of Melvin and Ruby (Richardson) Belbeck.  She was a 1945 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School; a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church UCC; a Past President of the Lansing Social Study Club and the Child Study Club; and a City of East Lansing election worker.  She retired as a secretary for the Michigan State Police after 30 years of service, and later was a secretary for the East Lansing Public School District.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence A. Medler, Jr. in 2011, and a brother-in-law Richard Medler in 2006.  Surviving are a daughter Janine Medler and a son Todd Medler; 3 grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Medler, Corey and Haley Medler; 2 great-grandchildren, Nikolas and Liam Medler; sister, Patricia Medler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Betty Leadbitter, Chuck and Carol Medler; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside Service will be conducted by the Rev. Mike Prince, Spiritual Care Coordinator for Hometown Home Health & Hospice at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015, at Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Congregational Church UCC.
