Age 94, of Lansing, MI, passed away July 20, 2015. He was born November 5, 1920, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Joseph and Ester Green. He was one of 11 children.

Sidney proudly served his country and was a 2-war veteran. He worked at the Lansing Post Office, where he retired.

Later in life Sidney married Irma Carter. From this union he fathered 3 daughters, Aris, Lorrain and Irma Jr. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family, especially by his well-loved nephew, Malcolm Knox, who he fathered as well. To many, Sidney was a lifeline for his host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his many friends.

The family wishes to thank Eaton Community Palliative Care for the care they gave Sidney.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. The family hour will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
