Lansing, Michigan

On June 16, 2015, Katie departed this earth to join her husband David.

She was born Kathryn Juanita Wicklund on November 2, 1922, in Des Arc, Arkansas, to the late Frederic and Virginia Wicklund.

Katie worked as a teacher in the Lansing School District for 22 years.  She was a volunteer at Sparrow Hospital in the Service Auxiliary and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Service was her passion.  She enjoyed golf, bridge and was an accomplished musician.  Katie received her bachelor’s degree from Arkansas A&M and a master’s degree from her beloved Michigan State University.

She is survived by her sons Randy and Steve, 5 grandchildren, Shelley, Dylan, Zach, Connor and Spencer and a sister Sue. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years David C. Ralph, PhD, one brother and 4 sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the The Peoples Church of East Lansing, 200 W. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI.

    I met Mrs. Ralph went her grandson Connor became one of my students. Such a lovely lady with a heart for education. My deepest sympathy to Connor and Spencer and your dad and mom.
