Unfortunately, I never met T. Valdeen, but if she was anything like her daughters and granddaughters, she must have been an amazing woman.

Valdeen and Walt were one of my Mom and Dad’s very dearest friends. Valdeen’s girls grew up around the Lansing MI area and we knew them well. Mom and Dad played pinnacle with Walt and Valdeen, the girls and Dan and I would play together, and we often went to the lake with them in summer. We have some fond memories of Valdeen’s girls and Valdeen’s personality and laugh. My kids knew her a little bit because we stopped in periodically at her house on the way from up north. She was even at a few Dover school reunions with Walt when we went. I will never forget Valdeen and her laughter and generosity. Now at least there is again a foursome for pinnacle. As Valdeen might laugh at Dad as he would say something like, “Watch out, that could be dangerous.” Walt was a great guy too. We will miss you Valdeen, a large part of our childhood. We can still hear her voice and laughter in our heads and hearts.
