Judy and I got to know the Le family through the good work of the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and the efforts of volunteers at St. Peters Lutheran Church of Big Rapids, MI, in cooperation with St. Mary’s Catholic Church also of Big Rapids. Nang and his family were among the, unfortunately many, refugee families who escaped from Viet Nam after the fall of Saigon. That the Le family made it out successfully is a testament to their ingenuity, hard work and faith in God. Nang, as head of the household, saw to it that his family made their way to the U.S.A, where their hard work, strong family values and the blessings of The Lord made it possible for them to settle in a land of freedom and opportunity where they could prosper.

Nang will be missed by those who survive him, but for those of faith a blessed reunion awaits us in Heaven. Nang cannot hear me now, but I want his family to know that I respected him for the man I came to personally know and through the family he and Theresa (Ba as I knew her) raised. They saw to it that their children and their descendants would in a land where they could prosper and worship the Lord Jesus freely.

    Dear Theresa, Jennifer and family:
I am so sorry to hear about Nang’s passing. He was a wonderful person! He was a man of God. God was his guide throughout his life. Nang was so proud of his family. Thuy as I have told you many times…you were his angel of mercy and your Mom’s companion through the good times and the bad times. Theresa..please know that Nang is in Heaven with Jesus…where we will all meet again forever! God bless you all with His peace and love now and forevermore! Very warm hugs to you all! We are unable to go to the funeral or visitation. We truly are with you in thought and prayers! Lovingly, Judy (the second Mom)
