Lansing, Michigan

Barbara K Markos was born November 17, 1948, to Alice and Paul Markos in Lansing, Michigan. She passed from this world on March 7, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. She received the best care possible at Stoneleigh Hospice, where she had previously worked.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Paul Markos. Barb lived life to the fullest and was surrounded by friends. She knew no stranger and loved people; mostly she loved God!

As an RN, she worked at Ingham Medical, Lansing General ER and ICU, Providential Hospital cancer unit, Sparrow ER and Rehab in Dimondale, Eaton Rapids ER as nurse manager, MSU’s Olin Clinic, and Stoneleigh Hospice. She also volunteered at Friends of the Library (Delhi Township), Loaves and Fishes, and was active in her church, Cedar Street Church in Holt.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at Cedar Street Church, 1705 Cedar Street, Holt, Michigan, followed by lunch.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing, Stoneleigh Residence. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

Barb will be remembered by so many because she touched our lives in many different ways. I will remember her smiles and humor but mostly I will miss those hugs! God Bless you, Barb and I will see you soon!
