Georgia Rotter was active in the Mid-Michigan Genealogical Society. I had the good fortune to attend some of her meetings. Her training as a librarian helped others in researching their family histories. Georgia understood the importance of knowing the dreams and values of our ancestors. My mother, Norene Rotter (later married to my father Harlon Sheldon Foote and afterwards to Rolan Sleight), attended high school with Norene’s cousin, George Rotter (Georgia’s husband). Norene Sleight died on October 27. On my trips home to Michigan each summer, I enjoyed the opportunity to go to lunch with Georgia and her family. Best wishes for my Rotter cousins in this time of loss.
