Joan Lorraine Kretschman

Joan passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 at her residence in Hayden, Idaho, where she lived, near her daughter, after the death of her husband Arthur Kretschman. Born in Lansing October 13, 1927 to Glen and Jennie Waterbury/McIntyre, she moved to Dimondale, where she spent her school years and early married life. In 1961, she and Arthur moved to LaGrange, Indiana and continued to raise their three sons and one daughter. After retirement they settled in Curran, Michigan, spending the warm months in the Michigan woods and migrating south to Mission, Texas when the cold came. Joan treasured the years spent traveling throughout the South and West with her husband. Still traveling when they could, they returned to live in Lansing and spent their final years together in the place they had always called home.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Arthur and brother Glen Ellison Waterbury. She is survived by her sons Karl Thomas, Ronald, and Dennis Kretschman, daughter Allyson Gross, their spouses, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3383 Lake Lansing Rd., East Lansing, MI with Pastor Richard Moe officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 10th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Dear Dennis Kretschman,
I’m so sorry to here about your mom. I hope you got to see her before she died. I didn’t actually expect it to happen. I know I would be sad if my mom died.
