Victor Celentino

  Age 92, of Lansing, MI, passed away June 22, 2014. He was born February 24, 1922, in Lansing, MI, to Paul and Lucia Celentino. Vic was a graduate of Eastern High School Class of 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Vic, and his brother Art, owned and operated Celentino’s Food Shop in North Lansing from 1948-1973. He owned and operated Celentino Bartending School and retired from bartending at the Moose Lodge in Holt.

Vic held MSU football season tickets from 1946-2013.

Vic is survived by his brother, Art; many nieces, nephews and friends; and his beloved dog, Tony. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Louie; and sisters, Irene Bryanton, Jeanette Byington, and Dorothy O’Connor.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. John A. Byers at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society.
