Richard A. Davidson

Richard A. Davidson died on March 17, 2014 in Fort Lauderdale, FL at the age of 83. He was currently of Lansing, MI.

 Born on July 11, 1930 in Lansing, MI, Dick graduated from Sexton High School in ‘48 and Michigan State University in ‘53, where he played for his cherished Spartan football team.

 He kept homes on Lake LeAnn in Jerome, MI and in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Learning from his father, he went on to build successful real estate and gravel businesses. Dick was also an avid car-racing enthusiast and enjoyed spending quality time with his friends and family over great meals.

 He is survived by his children, Kai Klaassen, Danny Davidson, Deby Kortas, Bert Davidson, Kim Chernich, and their mother Sally, and Cinnamon Davidson, Richard Davidson, and their mother Beverly, as well as 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Virnie Davidson, and siblings, William “Billy” Davidson and Virginia Zynda.

 The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with visiting hours at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will take place in Deepdale Memorial Gardens.

Dick was a friend, a mentor, and a true racer at heart. The Brayton family is very fortunate that we had Dick in our life. We will miss him but never forget him.

Dick was a gentle and caring man. The Board of Directors and the members of the Michigan Aggregates Association will miss his guidance,counsel, and friendship. We will never forget his immense capacity for helping others and his ability to help us enjoy life.
