Arthur James Faussett

  On October 29, 2013, at age 83, Arthur went to be with the Lord.   He was currently of Holt, MI. He graduated with the class of 1948 from Holt Public Schools where he played football, basketball, and ran track.  Arthur served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  While in the Navy he became an accomplished photographer taking pictures from the air and the deck of the U.S.S. SIBONEY.  After being discharged from the Navy; he worked and retired from General Motors after his employment of 40 years.  Arthur enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, and fisherman. Attending his children and grandchildren’s many sporting events he became their personal cheerleader.  Arthur sang in the church choir for many years and will be remembered as having a great sense of humor!

He is survived by: his wife, Barbara, of 61 years; two daughters, Debbie Miller, Teri (Brent) Field; son, Gary (Karen); and four grandchildren, John Arthur (Amelia) Miller, Katie Field, Ashlee Field (fiancé Eric Fountain), Joshua James Faussett; and two sisters, Jeri Pope, Jean (John) McDermott; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, parents, and siblings, Paul, Robert, Scott, Richard, Carol, and Donna.

Services will be at Christ United Methodist Church in Lansing on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 11:30.  The family will receive guests prior to the service at 11:00.

The family extends a sincere thank you to Capital Area Health and Rehab Center’s staff for the loving care Art received there. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 517 W. Jolly Rd., Lansing, MI 48910.  Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

I have such fond memories of Mr. Faussett. He was always so kind and fun to talk with. My thoughts go out to you.
