Age 69, of Holt, MI, passed away October 7, 2013.  He was born January 18, 1944, in Mason.  Robert worked as a skilled tradesman at GM for 44 years, retiring in 2009.  He was a former president of UAW local #1618.  He enjoyed helping others, spending time with his family, traveling, building, crafting videos and web design.

Surviving are:  his wife, Karen; 5 children, Scott Arntz, Christopher Arntz, Jason Smith, Michelle (Kipp) Carpenter, and Kristine Smith; 10 grandchildren, Rachel, Alyssa, Kera, Joel, Matthew, Nathan, Kasandra, Kaylee, Kassidy, Steven.  He is also survived by:  4 sisters, Lucy Stark, Margaret Gubry, Cheryl Wiggins, and Annette Arntz; and 3 brothers, Mike, Tom, and Chuck Arntz.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maxine Arntz.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3815 S. Cedar St., Lansing, with Fr. George Daisy officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice Services in memory of Robert Arntz.

    Worked with Bob at the old plant 2, in the many conversations we had I always enjoyed his dry humor and his Eastwood like demeanor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
