Klon “Harold” Corner

  Born August 27, 1931 in Lansing, Michigan son of the late Park and Edith Corner, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in his Delta Township home at the age of 81, after a long battle with heart disease and Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Marlene Corner; their children, Bryan Corner, Julie (John) Ross, Karin Corner-Ochs, and Susan Corner; five grandchildren, Nathan, Justin and Kari Ross, Jennifer and Chad Ochs; and great-grandchildren, Natividad, Kaylee and Makenzy. Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Corner.

Harold served with the U.S. Army, during the Korean War, in which time he became the proud recipient of the Bronze Star. Harold loved photography and especially taking pictures of lighthouses and cannons. He was a longtime baseball player and fan who loved the Detroit Tigers. He also enjoyed traveling and creating model train tables. Harold was a graduate of Sexton High School and Michigan State University where he received his B.A.

The funeral service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6301 W. St. Joseph Hwy., Lansing, on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in Harold’s memory, to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611.
