Age 92, of Lansing, MI, passed away April 19, 2013.  He was born August 2, 1920, in Lansing.  Hervey graduated from Acme Business College.  He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy as a radioman N, third class, aboard the USS Teton.  Hervey worked at Oldsmobile for 36 years, retiring in 1976 as a computer programmer.  He was a member of South Church for many years.  Hervey was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed wintering with his wife and family in Florida.  He volunteered for Meals-on-wheels and for Hospice of Lansing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Madalyn; daughter, Bonnie Dozeman; son, Ronald Ehret; brother, Donald Ehret; and sister-in-law, Kay Ehret.  Surviving are:  daughters, Mary (John) Mastroleo-Lindbloom of Lansing and Celia (Larry) Finch of Florida; son-in-law, Bill Dozeman; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 4 nieces and numerous cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with Pastor Don Denyes officiating.  Interment will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing Stoneleigh Residence, 4052 Legacy Pkwy, Suite 200, Lansing, MI  48911, or Meals on Wheels, 5303 S. Cedar St., Lansing, MI  48911 in memory of Hervey Ehret.

    The sadness we feel is tempered by the knowledge that you and Mom are together after being separated for so long. As Mike told me, “Grandpa can finally hold Grandma in his arms”. We will always miss you, but the lessons you taught us by word and example will go on. Thank you, Dad, for being my dad.
